Rae Houghton Rae White Houghton, 79, of Laton died Sunday in her home. Memorial services will be held Sunday at 2:30 p.m. in the Laton Church of the Brethren. Interment will be Wednesday In Rose Hills Cemetery of Whitter. Survivors include her widower, William L. Sr. of Laton; one daughter, Mrs. Martha Terrel of Nevada; two sons, Robert L. and William L. Jr., both of Laton; 10 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. The family requests that in lieu of flowers friends may contribute to the Baptist Children's Home of 7715 Victoria Ave., Englewood, or to their favorite charitv.

Robert L. Houghton
Former Laton resident Robert L Houghton, 61, died Wednesday in a Fresno hospital. A native of Norwalk, he lived most of his life in Laton and was a retired farmer. He lived m Downey for a short period before moving to Fresno In 1960. An avid fisherman, he served in the Navy in World War II and was a member of the Lion's Club. He is survived by three sons, Robert L Jr , Rlchard Rae, and David C. Houghton, all of Fresno; one daughter Gloria Hooper of Downey. One brother, William Houghton of Laton; one sister, Martha Terrell of Smith Valley, NV and a grandson.

Note

Robert was adopted. The family story is his parents were Caucasian and Native American- they were forced to give him up due to his being "mixed race."

Dr. L.P. Locke, 82, died Sunday at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Jens Olden, near Eatonville. Dr. Locke had been a resident of Pierce county for 47 years and was a pioneer veterinarian. He is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Jens Olden; one son, W.R. Locke of Klamath Falls, Ore. and grandchildren in Eatonville and in California. He was a native of Vermont. Funeral services were held Wednesday at 2 p.m. in the Eatonville Community M.E. Church, with Rev. H.N. Svinth of Bethany Lutheran church officiating and interment was in Eatonville cemetery. Mrs. Hazel Olden, 73, of Eatonville, died Monday in a Centralia hospital. She was born in Gig Harbor and had lived in Eatonville most of her life. She was a member of the Christian Science Society, Ohop Ladies Aid, World War I Ladies Auxiliary, Dogwood Garden Club and the Grandmothers Club, all of Eatonville. Surviving are five daughters, Mrs. Oscar Kathleen Reid of Everett, Mrs. Alfred (Frances) Koher, of Glenoma, Mrs. Charles (Patricia) Parker, of Olympia, Mrs. Robert (Marguerite) Osborn, of Galvin and Mrs. Glenn (Doris) Vormestrand, of Eatonville; a son, William M. Donahue of Bandon, Ore., 23 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Services are announced by Newell-Hoerling Funeral Home, Centralia.

Joseph Lee Houghton, 74, 5955 Warner Road, died Wednesday at the Hamilton House Nursing Home.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. today at Striffler - Hamby Chapel with burial in Parkhill Cemetery.
Mr. Houghton was born June 7, 1897, in Stewart County, Ga., son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Houghton. He was a member of the First Christian Church where he also served as an elder. He had lived in Columbus most of his life. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Birdie M. Houghton, Columbus; two daughters, Mrs. A. B. Arnold, Phenix City, Mrs. Nelle LaJune, Columbus: a step-daughter, Mrs. Willine Clark, Columbus; three sisters, Mrs. Elizabeth Patrick, Jacksonville, Fla., Mrs- Frank Bentley, Smiths, Ala., Mrs. Annie Laura Skipper, Atlanta; and four grandchildren.
