A murder and robbery was committed five miles from Tilbury Center, Ont., the other night.
Some unknown parties broke open the door of a house belonging to a quit and inoffensive old man by the name of Wilson Houghton, who lived alone, having—never been married. Robbery seems to have been the motive. Houghton was shot in the abdomen and died from the effects of the wound the next morning. Before dying he made an ante mortem statement to the effect that two men broke open his door and shot him. He states that the robbers secured about $500, which was on his person at the time.
