He held various positions in the industrial truck division of material handling at a forklift company in Georgia. He was an Air Force Korean War veteran. He was a member of United Methodist Church, Bishop Hill; Scottish Rite Bodies, Valley of Moline; American Legion Post 163, Statham, Ga; and Loyal Order of Moose Lodge, Winder, Ga. LANCASTER — Mrs. Elfrieda Krohn Houghton, 53, wife of Grover Houghton, died at a Lancaster hospital Wednesday after a long illness.
Funeral services will be conducted Friday at 2 p. m. at the Harris - Wepking funeral home. The Rev. John Gerber will officiate and burial will be in the Dodge cemetery.
Mrs. Houghton was the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. William Krohn and taught school in this vicinity for several years prior to her marriage.
Surviving are her husband; a foster son, Gerald Krohn, a step- d a u g hter, Florence Houghton. Chicago; two sisters, Mrs. Earl Weisbenner and Mrs. Elmer Chase, and four brothers, Edward. Arnold, and Hubert, all of this vicinity, and William, Viroqua.
