Marnell Houghton, 80, of Humphrey went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, March 14, 2013, at Baptist Health Medical Center in Stuttgart.
Marnell was born June 22, 1932, in Star City, Arkansas, she was the daughter of the late William Ellis Persons and Bessie Lee Persons. She was a member of Bayou Meto Assembly of God Church in Humphrey where she served the Lord faithfully with her family for many years. Marnell found joy in cooking and always had a meal and a conversation to share with anyone that entered her home. Preceding her in death was her husband, John Raymond Houghton; her brothers, Leon Persons, Lester Persons, Curtis Ray Persons and William Byron Persons; and her sisters, Shirley Ann Persons and Pauline Smith.
Funeral services are 2:30 p.m. Saturday at Bayou Meto Assembly of God Church Burial will follow in Williams Cemetery
