DANVILLE - The Rev. Stan ley Baylor Houghton, 68, retired Baptist minister, died Wednesday at 2:55 p.m. in a Danville hospital after a short illness. He was a native of Portsmouth, and had lived in Danville abou 30 years. He formerly was a pas- tor of the Stokesland Baptist Church, Danville. His late parents were Charles and Mrs. Annie Houghton. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Blanche Weddle Houghton, formerly of Portsmouth, three daughters, Mrs. William Moore o Danville; Mrs. William Martin Jr. of Dry Fork and Mrs. Stuart Motley of Chatham; two sons Stanley B. Houghton Jr. and Eu- gene Houghton, both of Danville; nine grandchildren, and three brothers, Amos ‘C. Houghton o Portsmouth; Charles L. Houghton of Norfolk and Owney B. Hough ton of Dallas, Tex., and nieces and nephews.
