Remains Arrive Thursday Morning
—Burial Takes Place at Catholic Cemetery
After an illness of more than a year, Mrs. J. K. Haughton, for many, years a resident of Sioux Falls. died at the home of her only daughter; Mrs. Giovanni Romeo. (Mary Haughton) at Great Neck. Long Island. N. Y., Sunday evening.
Mrs. Haughton had a legion of friends in Sioux Falls, having lived here until her daughter married and went east a few years ago. Since that time she has lived in New York, where funeral services were held this morning.
She was about 60 years old and was the wife of the late J. K. Haughton, a business man of Sioux Falls, who died 16 years ago.
The remains are being brought to Sioux Falls, accompanied by her son in- law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Gio- vanni Romeo and willreach here on Thursday u.orning over the Illinois Central at 10 o’clock. Burial will be made immediately afterwards in the Calvary cemetery north of the city, Rev. M. C. Fitzgerald officiating at the grave,
Other than her daughter, Mrs. Romeo and sister, Mrs. John P. Bleeg, 210 North Summit ave., Mrs. Houghton is survived by two sisters, Mrs. Dan Pad- den, of Buffalo, N. Y., and Mrs. Tess Tulius, of Emporia, Pa., and one brather, James Pardon, of New York City. All of the family have visited Mrs. Houghton within the last year. Mr. and Mrs. Bleeg and sob and daughter spent September and October of last year .with Mrs. Houghton on Long Island.
Pall bearers will be old time friends f the Houghton family, Max Kuehn, W. L. Baker, Frank L. Blackman, J. H. Voorhees, D. J. Conway and John Fitz Gibbon.
