Sir, I was looking at a family history that is compiled by you on ancestry.com. I am a great-grandchild of Cyril Houghton, son of Joseph J. and Adelle (Richardson) Houghton, a descendant of Elijah Houghton.

You have 1 child listed under Cyril, when he in fact had 8. He married Eleanora Deiter and in 1933, he opened Cy's dairy in Susanville, CA. In addition to Susan, he also had a daughter named Carrie (Houghton) Golden, who is currently working at the Susanville, CA library. She is my grandmother. Cyril and Eleanor had a total of 7 children. Cyril died in 1982 and is buried in Janesville CA. Further down your list, there is listed a Cyril Calvin Houghton, with a mother's name of Dieter. This is also one of Cyrils children. Another one was named Alvin, and another Helen. At one time, my grandmother Carrie, Aunt Helen and Cyril and Eleanor all lived in a little group of houses on the same road. My grandfather, James Golden, built both the house he shared with Carrie, and the one Cy and Eleanora lived in.

I want to thank you for your geneology posted on the site. It is amazing to look back on the family's progression. I hope my information here can help you complete Grandpa Cy's part of the lineage. If you need any support on it, my grandmother Carrie has been researching the family line for years and years. I know she has traced the Dieters back to germany.¹
