Herbert Houghton, 76, 957 Gray. died in his home in Ogden, Wednesday afternoon at his home following an illness. He was born March 26, 1909, in Evanston, Wyo., to James T. and Sarah Ann Butler Houghton and was reared in Ogden, Utah where he received his schooling. On March 19, 1930, he married Ella Marie Peterson at Bountful, Utah. They made where he was employed at American Pack from 1928 until 1940. From 1940-1946, he worked at Parks and Sons In 1946, the family moved to Pocatello and he then worked at Idaho Provision until 1951. From 1951-71, he was employed at Zweigarts.
He was a member of the LDS Church and the Danish Brotherhood of America. His hobbies were hunting, fishing and camping. Survivors include his wife of Pocatello; three sons, Herbert Paul, Jack Kenneth and Glen Archie Houghton, all of Pocatel- lo: two daughters, Mrs. Evelyn Marie Cobia, Pocatello; Mrs. Max (Carolene) Call, Idaho Falls; a brother, James Turner Houghton, Brigham City, Utah; five sisters, Nettie Griffiths, Ogden; Mrs. George (Edna) Carter, Huntsville, Utah; Mary Warren, Lake Havasu, Ariz; Bes- sie Robinson and Donna Fletcher, both of Phoenix, Ariz; 16 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Thomas, and two grandchildren. Funeral services will be Saturday at 1 p.m. at the Pocatello LDS 22nd Ward chapel at Poole and Cedar. Bishop V. Dale Kirkman will officiate. The family will receive friends today from 7 to 9 p.m. at Manning Funeral Chapel. On Saturday, friends may call at the 22nd Ward chapel from noon until service time. Burial will be in Restlawn Memorial Gardens.
