Dorothy E. Houghton 1920 2011 CHICOPEE Dorothy E. (Donald) Houghton, age 90, was called safely home on Aug. 20, 2011. She was born on Sept. 3, 1920 in Spring-field, MA. She was a daughter of the late Joseph Y. and Rhea D. (Horton) Donald. Dorothy worked in the food service department of Six Flags Theme Park for over 50 years before she retired. She is predeceased by her husband Carl H. Houghton who passed away in 1981. She leaves her loving sons Carl H. Houghton Jr., of Chicopee, Brian Houghton of Chicopee and Alan C. Houghton of Northampton; one sister, Dorothy Houghton of Florence, MA; one brother Harold Donald of Maine; 6 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. She is predeceased by 4 brothers and 3 sisters. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff of Beacon Hospice Inc., for the excellent care they had shown to Dorothy throughout her time of need. Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, Aug. 23, 2011 from 4:00 7:00 p.m. at the Grise Funeral Home, 280 Springfield St, Chicopee, MA. Funeral will be held on Wednesday, Aug. 24, 2011 at 9:00 a.m. from the Grise Funeral Home followed by an in house prayer service at 10:00 a.m. with burial to follow in Fairview Cemetery. Published in The Republican from August 21 to August 22, 2011¹
