James H. Fox, 70, of Storrs Mansfield, CT, beloved husband of Marnel (Kennedy) Fox, died Tuesday, July 12, 2011 at Aurora Senior Living of Cromwell, CT.

He was born September 5, 1940 in Worcester, MA, son of the late Edward and Lydia (Houghton) Fox. He was a veteran of the Vietnam War having served with the US Marines Corps. Prior to retirement, he was a counselor at Lighthouse Rehabilitation.

Besides his wife, James is survived by his children: Megan and Timothy; three grandchildren; two brothers: Edward and Thomas Fox; also several nieces, nephews, and extended family.

Funeral services are private and burial will be in St. John's Cemetery, Worcester, MA.

Camden - Mrs. Lena Houghton, 71, died at her home, Fish Creek Landing, Town of Vienna, at 12:15 a.m. today, after a week's illness.
Born in Vernon, Aug 3, 1876, she was the daughter of the late William and Mary Clute Eastup. She attended school in Vernon and was married to Roscoe Collins, Fish Creel Landing. They lived in Bartlett and later bought the farm on which she resided at the time of her death in Fish Creek Landing. Mr. Collins died in 1909
In 1912, she was married to Ira Houghton and they conducted the farm until 1919 when he died. She has since resided at the homestead. She attended the Methodist Church in Vienna and was formerly a member of the Vienna Grange.
Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Marshall Whaley, Rome, and Miss Mary Houghton, Spadra, Calif. five sons, John Collins, Rome, Elliott Collins, New London, Clifford Collins, Fish Creek Landing, Alfred Collins, Vernon and Kenneth Houghton at home; 20 grandchildren and two great grandchildren; one brother, Alfred Eastup and two sisters, +Mrs. Harold Monroe, Vernon Center, and Mrs. Florence Bell, Redland, Calif.
Funeral services will be held at her late home, Monday at 2 p.m., the Rev. Sterling Wetherell, pastor of the Vienna Methodist Church, officiating. Interment in Grove Cemetery, Higginsville. Arrangements are in charge of J. Floyd Smith.
