Elizabeth Marsh Houghton was born Dec 9 1884 and died in August of 1982. I knew her before she passed on. I don't really remember if she was know as "Iza" or "Elizabeth" as in that time, and our generation she was known as "Mrs. Bloomfield." She was the wife of Joseph Earl Bloomfield (Sr.) She is buried at Sunset Memorial Park in Olmsted Twp, Cuyahoga County Ohio. I she is the mother of my mother's younger sister's husband -- Joseph Earl Bloomfield (Jr). He is my uncle.

Elizabeth C. Houghton, 94, formerly of Bird-in-Hand, died of natural causes Tuesday at Luther Acres, Lititz.

A seamstress, Mrs. Houghton retired from Singing Needles, Leola, in 1975 after 20 years.

She was an active member of Bird-in-Hand United Methodist Church, where she taught Sunday school for more than 50 years and belonged to the United Methodist Women.

Born in Lancaster, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Mary Holtz Ruhl.

Her husband, James W. Houghton Sr., died in 1982.

Surviving are a son, James W. Jr. of Englewood, Colo; two grandsons; and a sister, Mary Carroll of Columbus, Ohio.

She was preceded in death by four brothers and three sisters.¹

Born in Bird-in-Hand, he was a son of the late Parke and Emma Whiteside Houghton. He was a member of the Bird-In- Hand United Methodist Church and Andrew H. Hershey Lodge 764, Free and Accepted Masons. In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, James W., Denver, Colo., and two grandchildren.

HOUGHTON, MARGARET MEREDITH,beloved mother, accomplished teacher, thoughtful caregiver and dear friend to a wide circle from Oxford, Ohio to Delray Beach, Florida, as well as St. Louis and Poplar Bluff, Missouri, expired May 4, 2004 following a short illness at Mercy Hospital in Coconut Grove, Florida; she was 87 years old. Margaret Meredith Houghton was born December 12, 1916 at the family home of Willis H Meredith and Ollie Hargrove in Poplar Bluff. The youngest of 5 remarkable children, she was predeceased by her brother, U.S. Judge James H. Meredith; sisters, Virginia Meredith, Helen Dickson, Lucille Lucy and husband, Everett A. Houghton. Margaret was a working mother who achieved a bachelors degree from the University of Missouri and a masters degree in education from Florida Atlantic University. In Oxford, she worked with her husband in their photography business while raising three children. In Delray Beach, she taught second grade at Hagen Ranch and Spady Elementary while remaining actively involved with the First Presbyterian Church, and caring for her husband. A loving sibling, she spent 15 of the past 16 years of her life caring for her sister, Helen, at her St. Louis home. After Helen's passing, Margaret returned to Florida. A service prayer and song was held at her bedside with all her children present. She is survived by her two sons, William and Craig Houghton; daughter, Deborah Eyerdam; daughter-in-law, Carmella Houghton; grandson, Ryan Houghton; son-in-law, Rick Eyerdam; nephews, Robert Lucy and Doke Meredith. In lieu of flowers, please make a contribution to the charity of your choice in honor of Margaret Houghton.¹
