Mrs. Houghton, 79, died Dec. 20, 2000, at a local hospital. She worked in day care for more than 40 years.

Mrs. Houghton was born Dec. 11, 1921, in Bell City, Mo., to Thomas and Mary Melinda Hill, who are deceased. She was married in 1960 to Art Houghton, who is deceased.

She is survived by three sons, David Lucas, Jerry Lucas and Ken Lucas; two brothers, W.C. Hill and W.D. Proctor; nine grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Lucinda Mae Clack; four brothers; and a sister, Gladys Proctor.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to noon Tuesday with services at 1 p.m. at Nolan Funeral Home, 225 N. Weber St., 632-7608. Burial will be private.¹

Chapter BI, she was an active member of her community, an avid gardener, with warm greetings for all around her. She is survived by two children, six grandchildren and eight greatgrandchildren. Helen Louise Houghton, 72, died Monday, Feb. 12, 2001, at her home in Wellington. She was the retired assistant manager of Security Pacific National Bank in Upland, Calif.

She was born Feb. 19, 1928 in Wellington, the daughter of Claude and Edith W. (Huffman) Dixon. She married Joseph E. Houghton on March 2, 1974 in Las Vegas, Nev. He preceded her in death on Aug. 8, 1994.

She was also preceded in death by a son, Richard.

Survivors include her companion, Everett Greeno of Wellington; a daughter, C. Edette King of Bloomington, Calif; two brothers, Bernard Dixon of Valley Falls, Kan., and Harlan Dixon of Wichita; two sisters, Norma Troutt of Kerrville, Texas, and Alice Reece of Baton Rouge, La; three grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m., Wednesday, Feb. 14, at the Frank Funeral Home. The Rev. Kendale d. Finley will officiate.

Interment will be in the Prairie Lawn Cemetery.

A memorial has been established with Hospice Incorporated, in lieu of flowers. Contributions may be left at the funeral home.

Frank Funeral Home, 417 N. Washington, Wellington, is in charge of arrangements.¹
