Jean Houghton

Services for Jean Houghton, 50, of Troup, were held Nov. 27 at New Emmaus Baptist Church with the Revs. G. W. McFadden and Mike Harper officiating. Burial was in New Emmaus Cemetery in New Summerfield, under the direction of Autry Funeral Home of Jacksonville.

Mrs. Houghton died Nov. 25, at a Tyler hospice.

She was born Dec. 9, 1954 in Jacksonville to the late Wiley and Rose Smith. She was a seamstress and member of the New Emmaus Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by a son, Troy Houghton.

Survivors include her husband; two sons; a brother; and two sisters.

Pallbearers were Tony Harris, Danny Edwards, Blake Pepper, Casey Davis, Blake Powell, Chris George and Ronnie George.

John D. Haughton

PUBLISHED: November 16, 2005

John D. Haughton, 57, a resident of New Baltimore since 1988, died Tuesday, Nov. 15, 2005, in his home. He was born Jan. 6, 1948, in Mount Clemens.

Mr. Haughton, a veteran of the U.S. Navy, was a member of St. Mary Queen of Creation Church in New Baltimore. His family said he enjoyed entertaining and was a passionate sports fan, especially for the University of Michigan Wolverines football team. He married Suzanne on April 26, 1969, in Richmond.

He is survived by his wife, Suzanne; children, Jennifer (Michael) Dedenbach of Macomb Township and Jason (Kristen) of Chesterfield Township; mother, Betty Ann Winkler of Yale; brothers, Ralph of San Jose, Calif., and Patrick of Yale; and grandchildren, Kyle and Nicole Dedenbach, and Alexis and Brendan Haughton.

He was predeceased by his father, Ralph Haughton.

A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Peter Catholic Church, 98 New St., Mount Clemens, with the Rev. T.J. Maloney officiating.

Visitation is 6-9 p.m. Thursday and 2-9 p.m. Friday with a 7 p.m. Scripture service at Gendernalik Funeral Home, 35259 23 Mile Road, New Baltimore. Additional visitation is 10:30-11 a.m. Saturday at the church.²
