He was born Nov. 7, 1932, in Painesville, Ohio, and came to Manatee County in 1967 from Cleveland. He retired as an educator and worked in Sarasota County for 24 years. He graduated from Ohio Northern University, Ada, Ohio. He served in the Coast Guard for four years during the Korean War. He was a Methodist.

Survivors include his wife of 35 years, Mary J; a stepson, Dennis Rainey of Bradenton; a sister, Anne Henderson of Zelienople, Pa; seven stepgrandchildren; and eight stepgreat- grandchildren.

A memorial service will be later. Inurnment will be in Andover, Ohio. National Cremation Society, Sarasota chapter, is in charge.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Heart Association, Attn: Memorials, P.O. Box 21475, St. Petersburg, FL 33742; or to American Parkinson Disease Association, 1250 Hyland Blvd., No. 4B, Staten Island, NY 10305.³
