Deceased Name: WALTER C. HOUGHTON
age 95, died on November 24, 2000. Martha, his beloved wife of 63 years, preceded him in 1993.

He was born in New Jersey on April 4, 1905 to Walter L. and Agnes Houghton. He was the oldest of four children.

Surviving Mr. Houghton is his sister, Doris Houghton of Singer Island; two nephews, Anthony Houghton of Singer Island and Richard Houghton of Englewood, FL; four nieces, Marion Houghton of South Orange, NJ, Mary Mayer of Maplewood, NJ, Carolyn Banks of Califon, NJ, and Therese Duda of Flourtown, PA.

Although Mr. Houghton had no children of his own, he was loved by family and friends alike and all affectionately called him "Uncle Walter".

Uncle Walter was a devoted alumnus of Notre Dame, Class of 1926. He retired as Vice President of the Seagram Company in New York City in 1970 and had been a resident of Palm Beach County for the last 30 years.

Mr. Houghton was a sportsman who played on the Notre Dame Tennis Team and played golf for over 65 years as a member of various country clubs. At his death, he was a member of the Deerfield Country Club.

A Memorial Service will be held at Edgewater Point Estates at a later date.³
