ObituaryOct 1, 1985Mary Josephine Houghton, 86, Salinas, Calif., and former Burley resident, died Saturday in Salinas, Calif. She was born Nov. 25, 1898, at Solsberry, Indiana, the daughter of Charles and Sarah Edwards Abrams. She attended schools in Indiana prior to moving to the Burley area where she lived for 37 years. She was a member of the LDS Church, and had been a nurse at the Old Cottage Hospital for many years. She married Algernon Houghton and he preceded her in death Dec. 3, 1937. She had lived in Salinas for 19 years. Surviving is one son, Robert C Houghton, Freedom, Wyo; one daughter, Dorothy Ford, Salinas; two grandchildren; and eight greatgrandchildren. The funeral will be Friday at 10 a.m. at the Joseph Payne Memorial Chapel. Burial will be in Pleasant View Cemetery. Friends may call at the chapel Thursday from 2 to 8:30 p.m. and Friday one hour prior to the service. BLISS Marie Weston Shockey, 72, Bliss, died Sunday in the Green Acres Care Center in Gooding. A graveside service will be Thursday at 3 p.m. in Hagerman Cemetery with Bishop Jack Gough officiating
