Services for John Gerald Houghton, a 40-year Perry merchant, will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday in Eaton-Watson Funeral Home, 59 Lake St., Perry. Burial will be in Glenwood Cemetery, Perry.

Houghton, 66, of Erie Street, died Saturday (Jan. 23, 1993) in Strong Memorial Hospital, Rochester, after a long illness.

Born in Warsaw, he owned and operated Houghton's Jewelry Store in Perry for 40 years, retiring in 1990.

He was a Navy veteran of World War II and was a former member of the Perry Rotary Club, Perry Fire Department and Perry Area Chamber of Comerce and was a charter member of the Perry Emergency Ambulance Squad.

He moved from Perry to Mount Morris in 1990.

Houghton was a member of Constellation Lodge 404, F & AM, in Perry.

Survivors include his wife, the former Dolores Conaway; a daughter, Roxane Sardina of Perry; and two grandchildren.(bprice)

RHINEBECK—Mrs. Genevieve B. Houghton, 75, of 39 Violet Place, died Sunday at her home.
A lifelong resident of the area, Mrs. Houghton was born in Red Hook on Oct. 7, 1903, the daughter of James Baxter and the former Mary Doyle. She was married to Harry W. Houghton, who died on Feb. 3, 1977.
Mrs. Houghton was a member of the Rock City Grange, Rhinebeck Garden Club and the Church of the Good Shepherd, Rhinebeck. Mrs. Houghton was recognized for her 50 years of service at this year’s Dutchess County Fair.
Mrs. Houghton is survived by a brother, James D. of Florida; a sis- ter, Mrs. Thomas Postver of Rhine- beck and several nieces and nephews.

TIVOLI - Milton Marin« Houghton. a machinist for the formar Da Laval Separator Co (now Alfa Laval) In Poughkeepsie for 32 years, died Monday at Northern Dutchess Hospital. Rhlnebeck. Mr. Houghton. 71. lived on Lasher Road.
He retired from De Laval in Ii72. He had spent most of his life in the Red Hook trea. He belonged to the Machinists union lodge in Poughkeepsie. He was also a member of the De Laval Silver Circle Club.
He was a member of St. John the Evangelist Church In Barrytown. For 32 years he was the caretaker of the church. Mr. Houghton was born Aug. 31. 1307. in Falrport (Monroe County). the son of John and Neut« Hennlke Houghton.
He was married in 1130 In Germa- town (Columbia County) to the former Florence Bloomer, who survives. In addition to his wife, he is survived by one daughter. Doris Pawley of Claremont. Calif; one son. Ronald Houghton of Marshall. Va; one sister. Florence Benham of Cleveland; sli grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Calling hours will be today from 7 to • p.m. at the E. C. Hand Funeral Home. 30 S. Broadway. Red Hook. Funeral services will be Saturday at 2 p.m. at SL John the Evangelist Church. Barrytown. with the Rev. Frederick Q. Shafer officiating. Burial will be in St. Paul's Cemetery. Red Hook.

Arthur R. Houghton. 46. a Marine veteran of World War II who fought at Guadalcanal and in other campaigns in the South Pacific, died yesterday in Phoenix Veterans Administration Hospital.
Mr. Houghton. 3508 W. Hadley, was employed the past 11 years as a postal clerk in Phoenix. He was a member of the Disabled American Veterans in Phoenix and the Veterans of Foreign Wars post in Glendale and the Methodist Church.
Born in Amsterdam. N.Y., he moved to Phoenix from there 12 years ago.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday in Maryvale Mortuary. 6901 W. Indian School. Burial will be in Greenwood Memorial Park with the VFW honor guard officiating. Friends may call tomorrow at the mortuary.
Surviving are his wife. Naomi B; three daughters. Florence. Jeanne and Frances, all ¡of Phoenix; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Earl Houghton of Gloversville, N.Y; a sister, i Mrs. Marjorie Warner of Pitts- ' ford. N.Y; two brothers, David and Donald, both of Glovers- : ville. two stepchildren. Lucinda and David Lucas, both of Phoenix.

MINERVA -- Olive Frances Houghton died Sunday, December 2, 2001 at the Tri-County Nursing Home, North Creek, NY. Born October 4, 1918, Olive was the daughter of the late Henry and Mary Houghton. During World War II, Ollie was overseas with the Red Cross in Rome and Florence. She and her sister, Peggy, who was a nurse from Albany with the 33rd General Hospital, met in Rome. Their brothers, Ed and Hank were serving overseas. Ed with the Army Air Corps in Italy and England and Hank, as a paratrooper in France and Belgium. Having graduated from St. Rose College and after getting her master's degree, she became a teacher with the Army of occupation in Japan and Okinowa. During the years 1950-1956, she was educational advisor in the U.S. Army Education Program in the Far East. She was later promoted to a command level position. Ollie had the deepest respect for the philosophy of being responsible for promoting an education, proper for our military personnel. In the 1960's, Ollie studied at Oxford and toured the British Isles and her ancestral home, Ireland. Ollie's great loves in life were skiing and hunting, but her true love was teaching. She took students to Russia on a field trip and always was trying to get the very best out of her students as she gave her very best. A fond memory of her's was the summer she spent at Broadloff and took part in a very moving graduation ceremony. Ollie was truly loved by her students, her family and her friends. She will be greatly missed by all whose lives she touched. She was predeceased by a brother, Henry (Hank) Houghton and her sister, Peggy Houghton Piontka. She is survived by her brother, Edgar A. Houghton of Albany. Also several nieces and nephews. There will be no calling hours. Funeral services will be conducted at the convenience of the family. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Olmstedville. Funeral arrangements under the direction of the Edward L. Kelly Funeral Home, PO Box 548, Schroon Lake, NY 12870.³
