He was last employed as ai accountant in the Orleans County Welfare Department foi 17 years until his retirement following which he and Mrs Houghton went to Snyder to live with a daughter. Mrs James Shenton. He was a former member of the Albion Union Free School District Board of Education, a trustee of the Bogue Home foi Children, treasurer of the Al bion Methodist Church at one time, and a member and for mer treasurer of the Albion
