Services for Blanche Houghton. 88 of 2720 S. 12th. who died Sunday, will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Elliott-Hamil Chapel of Faith, Highway 277, with the Rev Bill Wiman, associate pastor of Pioneer Drive Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will be in Elmwood Memorial Park. Born Sept. 30.1887, in Bunkie. La., she grew up in Louisiana and married George Houghton April 12. 1911. in Marlin. They moved to Abilene in 1926.
She was a member of First Baptist Church and the Light Bearers Sunday school class. She was a member and past matron of the Order of the Eastern Star. Abilene Chanter #30, and was named mothe of the chapter. Her husband died July 26. 1968. Survivors include a son George Jr. of 2302 Woodard; two granddaughters. Mrs. Don
(Linda) Thomason of 2710 S. 12th and Georgette Mason of 2720 So. 12th and a grandson Mike of 4725 S. 6th.
A daughter, Mary Mason died Dec. 6,1972.
