Margaret Peterson, 92, born in Scotland
PARSIPPANY - Margaret Pe- terson died Tuesday at Chilton Memorial Hospital in Pompton Plains after a short illness. She was 92.
She was born in Glasgow, Scotland, moved to Canada in 1915, and came to the United States in 1917. She lived in Bloomfield for many years before moving to Parsippany 26 years ago.
Mrs. Peterson was an assembly worker at Westinghouse in Bloomfield for 15 years before retiring 34 years ago.
Her husband, Glen, died in 1973; and two sons, Edward Houghton, died in 1972, and John G. Houghton died in 1987.
Survivors include seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

John G. Houghton
PARSIPPANY - John G. Houghton died yesterday at Morristown Memorial Hospital after a short illness. He was 62. Mr. Houghton was born in Glen Ridge and had lived in Bloomfield
before moving here 28 years ago. Before retiring earlier this year. Mr. Houghton was a machine designer at Emro Engineering Co., Summit, for seven years. He was a Navy veteran of World War II and a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2433, Union. Surviving are his wife. Genevieve; two sons, John. Parsippany, and Christopher. Warren. Pa; a daughter, Michelle Laurie. Warren. Pa; his mother, Margaret Peterson, Parsippany; and six grandchildren

Biography

John was born in 1925. He passed away in 1987. He served in US Navy during WWII, perhaps on the USS Gantner.

He was a draftsman/ engineer who worked on the 'human centrifuge' machine used to train early astronauts,Philly,Pa. He worked in NJ, and the Eastern US on these design projects.

He was also a skilled photographer, who, at one time had his own studio..late 1940's, perhaps with an Ed Rox?
