James had 2 sisters, Bernadetta & Annie and someone with the initials J.D. that I found in James' obit.
Regarding Bernadetta Beach. My records show she was born in Oct. 1882 in New York. She died April 10, 1905 and was buried April 12, 1905 at Holy Cross cemetery in Colma, CA. I have also seen her name spelled Burnedette in the 1900-01 San Francisco Telephone book and then Bernadotte in the 1901-02 book. Her mother Elizabeth (wife of the gut I'm trying to find) was last seen in the 1905-06 SF telephone book.
According to the 1920 California census James Nelson Beach's father was born in Wales and his mother in Ireland.

Bernedetta's obit and it mentions her mother Elizabeth, her brother James and someone identified as J.D. Beach of Laredo, TX. (I don't know who that was) The obit was from an S.F. paper dated April 11,1905. She died on the 10th.
