| Biography | Evidently, she inherited Bostock in her own right after the death of brother William. When she died, the lands passed into the hands of the famous Savage family. The lands may have been given in dowry when she married. This passage occurs in Camden's Brittanica " Hence the Dan River runs by Bostock ( formerly Botestock ) the ancient seat of the noble and knightly family of BOSTOCKS, which by the marriage of Anne, the only daughter of Ralph, son and heir of Sir Adam de Bostock, Knight, went together with a vast estate to John Savage ." According to earwaker ( p. 189 ), Bostock was in Davenham parish. [:CR:]. |
