| Also Known As | Martha Snelson was also known as Martha Jones. |
| Biography | This is"Martha the School".[:ITAL]
There may be some confusion here as Martha Snelson baptised 18 Jan 1860 at St Mary's is described as the daughter of Edward and Ann Snelson shoemaker of Greenway Street, Handbridge. However, the St Mary Marriage records of 1868-1910 detail Martha Snelson aged 32, daughter of Edward Snelson ( deceased ) farmer, marrying John Harkin (?) Jones on 2 January 1892.
It is hard to imagine a shoemaker chucking in his art and becoming a sod-shoveller. I hope Richard can sort this out and has a few answers ! [:CR:]. |
