Main Events

MarriageJohn Snelson and Alice Unknown were married.1
NoteI think there is some doubt about all this ... a John Joseph Snelson, mother maiden name Wiiliams was born in Q3 1882 in Chester.
BiographyThere may be the kernel of suspicion here, as the name Eliza in the christening entry was written Elizabeth then corrected by striking out the last 4 letters. Did William marry again ? Is that the reason why John, Ellen and Ada were all christened on the same day ? Does the change in wife go with the change in lifestyle, becoming an innkeeper rather than a joiner .... hardly a natural career progression, although many of us may aspire to such a migration in fortune.
