| Also Known As | She was also known as Ann Roby. |
| Note | I am not convinced that William Roby & Elizabeth Tatlock are the parents of William Roby who married Ann Foster. Whereas many researchers have believed this to be the right information there are two issues 1. Who is Ellen Roby in the 1841 Census, aged circa 70 years ? 2. William is said to be 43 years old when he dies in 1849, which means he was born circa 1846. None of the researchers has provided any evidence that William Roby & Elizabeth Tatlock are the parents William who married Ann Foster. Suggestions that William is the son of another Roby and his wife Betty Lawranson are also unconvincing. |
