She's listed as a servant, single, born in Louisiana, and both parents born in Louisiana. Given that Lillie's sister Emma Glover married Anthony G. Medine, that Lillie never married, and that Lillie was born and grew up in Louisiana (although her father was actually born in Mississippi), there's little doubt that this is actually Lillie Glover, born 1853.

Other than his listing in the Vick genealogy, no records have been found for him online.1 However, his existence and death date are consistent with his mother Mary's census entries for 1900, which says she had ten children with eight then living, and 1910, which says she had ten children with seven then living.2,3

In 1910 he and his brother John were living as boarders with Luther and Hattie Allen in Harrison Co., Texas, and working for a stave manufacturer.8
On Sunday 16 July 1911 he was arrested in Lafayette, Lafayette Parish, Louisiana, and charged with being insane. He had arrived there the previous night, and in the morning went to a Methodist church, found it closed, and sat on the sidewalk weeping. Later, when church opened, he tried to address the congregation at the start of the services. Someone took him outside, where he sat crying again until the sheriff arrived to arrest him. He told officers that he had been sent "by God to deliver a message to the faithful," but became "overcome by the spirits."9
His father arrived five days later to take him home, but he refused to go, saying that he was 24 and could care for himself. His father said that if he continued to refuse going home, he would have him declared insane by the court, and possibly sent to Pineville (i.e., the Louisiana Hospital for the Insane). According to his father, two or three years previously an illness had "wrecked" his nervous system, and he would go insane every year when hot weather arrived.10
He served in the U.S. Army during World War I, enlisting on 25 May 1918. He was in supply training with the 313th Cavalry until 23 August. He became a mechanic on 18 September, and served stateside with the 70th Field Artillery until his discharge after the war on 29 January 1919.11
At some point after his discharge he began using the name Albert Louis McCormick.12,13 In his mother's 1936 obituary he's listed as A. C. Sapp of Oklahoma14, but Social Security records list him as Albert Louis McCormick starting in January 1937 (probably when he initially signed up).15 He also used that name when he registered for the World War II draft on 27 April 1942. He was then living in Shawnee, Pottawatomie Co., Oklahoma, and working for the Salvation Army.5

On 7 November 1910 he narrowly escaped serious injury or death when he jumped from a car just before it was struck by a train. He and several members of his family had hired William Lowe to drive them to the fairgrounds in Shreveport, Caddo Parish, Louisiana. Lowe reportedly ignored signals from a flagman, and the car stopped on the tracks. Lowe yelled for everyone to jump, and he was unhurt. But James's half-brother Virgil, age 10, was killed, and his stepmother Ada and brother Greer were seriously hurt. His half-brother Alvin, age 6, was tossed from the car by Greer and had minor injuries. Lowe was arrested and charged with manslaughter.9
After their marriage, he and his wife Lillie lived in Robson, Caddo Parish, Louisiana.10 They later apparently lived in Mississippi for a time, where their daughter Mittie was born about 1926.11 They moved back to Cotton Valley, Webster Parish, Louisiana, James's home town, about 192912, and are listed there in the 1930 and 1940 censuses.11,13
He was listed as an insurance agent in the 1930 census.11 He later became a merchant in Cotton Valley, was a senior partner at the Roby Brothers department store, and also owned several farms in the area.13,12
On 11 April 1944, after the town of Cotton Valley was incorporated, he was officially elected as its first mayor by a vote of 162-47, having previously served as appointed mayor.14 He resigned due to ill health about 2 1/2 years later.15,8
