Mayhew-Barclay
St. Paul's Anglican Church, Renfrew, was the scene of a wedding this morning at 11.30 o'clock when Miss Alice Ruth Barclay, daughter of Mrs. C. J. Sharp and the late Mr. Thomas Barclay, of Renfrew, became the bride of. Mr. John A. Mayhew, son of Mr. and Mrs. Harvey C. Mayhew, of Admaston. Rev: J. W. Cornish conducted the service, and the wedding music was played by Miss Blanche Bossence. The church was decorated with Spring flowers.

Mr. J. C. Sharp gave the bride in marriage and she was attended by Miss Edna Mary Cooper as bridesmaid. Mr. Garnet Mayhew was bestman, and the ushers were Mr. George Barclay and Mr. James Mayhew.

For her wedding the bride. wore a floor-length gown of white satin fashioned with a nylon marquisette yoke edged with guipure lace, a fitted bodice and a bouffant skirt. Her long veil was arranged from a halo of orange blossoms, and she carried a shower bouquet of red roses.

Following a wedding, dinner held at the Hotel Renfrew the couple left on a wedding trip. For going away Mrs. Mayhew wore a black and white shepherd's plaid suit, with a matching hat. Her, shoulder-knot was formed of red roses.

Mr. and Mrs. Mayhew. will reside in Renfrew, Ont.

Out-of-town guests included: Mr. and Mrs. John Christie, Mr. and Mrs. George Barclay, of Toronto; Mr. and Mrs. James Langdon, Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Barclay, Rev. D. Christie: of Ottawa; Mr. and Mrs. Harold Barclay, of Syracuse, NY; Mr. Peter Mayhew, Mr. James Mayhew. of Peterboro, and Mr. Garnet Mayhew, of Creighton.8

Alice Ruth Barclay, daughter of Mrs. C. L. (sic) Sharp of Renfrew and the late Mr. Thomas Barclay, was married to John Alfred Mayhew of Renfrew, son of Mr. and Mrs. H. C. Mayhew of Admaston, Ont., at a ceremony Monday morning at St. Paul's Anglican church, Renfrew. Rev. J. W. Cornish officiated and wedding music was played by Miss Blanche Bossens.

Given in marriage by Mr. Clifford J Sharp, the bride was attended by Miss Erna Mary Cooper as bridesmaid and Mr. Garnet Mayhew was best man. Mr. James Mayhew and Mr. George Barclay were ushers.

A white satin gown, designed with a net yoke featuring the fitted bodice, edged with Guipre lace, and a graceful skirt, was chosen by the bride for her wedding. Following the ceremony, the wedding breakfast was held at Hotel Renfrew, and for going away the bride wore a black and white shepherds plaid suit with matching accessories.

Mr. and Mrs. Mayhew will reside in Renfrew.

Ottawa guests who attended the wedding were Mr. and Mrs. James Langdon, Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Barclay and Rev. D. Christie.5

GETZ, ROSE MARGARET peacefully and courageously after a lengthy hospitalization in St. Francis Memorial Hospital, Barry's Bay on January 28, 2010 at the age of 83. Rose (Pasco) loving wife of the late Herman Getz Jr. Dear mother of Wayne (Maxine), Leonard (Therese), Judy (Geoff Barry) and Glen (Jennifer). She will be sadly missed by her grandchildren Liam & Spencer Barry. Rose is survived by her sisters; Agnes, Teresa, Genevieve and Dorothy as well as her brother Leo. She is predeceased by her infant son Elmer, and her siblings Bernadette, Anna Mae, Frank & Angus. She will be fondly remembered by many nieces, nephews and friends. Friends called at Zummach Funeral Home, Killaloe on Wednesday February 3, 2010. Funeral service was held at Calvary Baptist Church, Killaloe on Thursday Feb 4, 2010 at 11 a.m. Spring interment Immanuel Baptist Cemetery, Killaloe. At the family's request, those desiring may make donations to St. Francis Memorial Hospital Foundation.
