     The following selected information is extracted from her obituary. Survivor(s): Mrs. Frank DeGraw and Capt. Walter R. Maitland. She was at the home of Mrs. an unknown person at the tme of her death.4      Charlotte Hutchinson was buried on 5 June 1940 at Lakeside Cemetery, Port Huron, Saint Clair County, Michigan, USA.16,10,17

     Charlotte appeared on the 1881 Canadian Census of Brighton Twp., Northumberland County, Ontario, in the household of George Maitland.11
     Charlot Matiland (sic) and Walter Matiland (sic) appeared on the 1891 Canadian Census of Brighton Twp., Northumberland County, Ontario, enumerated 13 April 1891, enumerated as a farmer and Presby(terian). Their daughter Mabel was listed as living with them. There were several errors in this enumeration including the spelling of their surname, and recording Charlot as "male."12
Charlotte Maitland and Walter R Maitland appeared on the 1900 U.S. Federal Census of Port Huron, Saint Clair County, Michigan, enumerated 8 June 1900, enumerated as a sailor. Their children Mable, Walter R. and Charlotte were listed as living with them.6

Charlotte Maitland and Walter R Maitland appeared on the 1910 Federal Census of Port Huron, Saint Clair County, Michigan, enumerated 2 May 1910, enumerated as a farmer on a general farm.. Their daughter Charlotte N was listed as living with them.7
Charlotte Maitland and Walter R Maitland appeared on the 1920 U.S. Federal Census of Port Huron, Saint Clair County, Michigan, enumerated circa 3 January 1920, enumerated as a house carpenter.8
Charlotte Maitland appeared on the 1930 U.S. Federal Census of Port Huron, Saint Clair County, Michigan, enumerated circa 6 May 1930, enumerated as a widow.9
     Her name was also recorded as Charlotte Hutchison according to her daughter's death registration.18 She was the informant on the death registration of her husband, Walter R Maitland.19,14 Mrs. Charlotte Maitland was the informant on the death registration of her daughter, Charlotte Noble Morash.20
     In the obituary of Charlotte Noble Maitland who died 3 October 1930, her mother, Charlotte Maitland was listed as a survivor.21
     The following obituary appeared Times Herald published in Port Huron, Michigan 4 June 1940:
Mrs. Charlotte Maitland
     Mrs. Charlotte Maitland, 82, widow of Capt. Walter R. Maitland, Sr. and resident of Port Huron some 45 years, died Monday afternoon in the home of Mrs. Anna M. Haas, 1704 Lyons street, after a long illness.
     She is survived by a daughter Mrs. Frank DeCraw (sic), Yarrow, B.C; a son, Capt. Walter R. Maitland, Buffalo, master of the Great Lakes steamer Carl C. Conway; a sister Mrs. Mary Brinkman, New York; a brother, Albert Hutchinson, Berkley, Mich, six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
     Mrs. Maitland who was born Oct. 5, 1857, in Brighton, Ont. was a member of Westminster Presbyterian church.
     Rev. B. L. Bergstrom, pastor of Westminster church, will officiate at funeral services at 3:30 p.m. Wednesday in Arthur E. Smith funeral home. Burial will be in Lakeside cemetery.
     The remains are in the funeral home.4

     She died on 2 February 1933 at Port Huron, Saint Clair County, Michigan, USA, at age 79. The informant was Harry Maitland.6      Sarah Jane Shaw was buried on 5 February 1933 at Lakeside Cemetery, Port Huron, Saint Clair County, Michigan, USA.11,6,12

Sarah Jane Shaw and Henry Maitland appeared on the 1900 U.S. Federal Census of Port Huron, Saint Clair County, Michigan, enumerated 5 June 1900, enumerated as a Captain. Immigrated with his family in 1890. The status given for Henry as PA (permanent alien?) Sarah had 7 children of which 6 were living. I assume that James is the child that had died. Henry and Sarah had been married for 23 years. Their children Henry, Blance M, Arnold, Roy MacGlennon, Florence and Gordon were listed as living with them.4

     He was born on 22 June 1878 at Presqu'ile Point, Brighton Twp., Northumberland County, Ontario, Canada, according to Ontario Birth Registration 020757.2,8,3,4,5,9,6 The informant on his birth registration was his uncle Malcolm Shaw.2 Alternatively, he was born circa 1881 in the 1930 census.7
     He died in September 1969 at age 91.9      Henry Wallace Maitland was buried on 4 September 1969 at Lakeside Cemetery, Port Huron, Saint Clair County, Michigan, USA.9,10
