     Mabel Jane DeGraw died on 28 April 1954 at M.S.A. General Hospital, Abbotsford, Municipality of Matsqui, British Columbia, Canada, at age 71 according to BC Death Registration 54-09-004800. The informant was Mrs. J. Luca.1,9

     The marriage of Miss Mabel Maitland, daughter of Mr. and Mrs.Walter Maitland, and Frank DeGraw, will be solemnized at the home of the bride's parents at North Street, on Wednesday afternoon at four o'clock, in the presence of the family and a few intimate friends. The young couple will reside on Willow street.5
Mabel Jane Maitland immigrated circa 1910 to British Columbia, Canada.1
     Francis and Mable G. DeGraw appeared on the 1910 U.S. Federal Census of Port Huron, Saint Clair County, Michigan, enumerated 3 May 1910, described as a machinist in a machine shop. His 18 year old brother-in-law, Walter R. Maitland was listed as an Assistant Shipping Clerk in an Iron Works.4
     In the obituary of Charlotte Noble Maitland who died 3 October 1930, her sister, Mrs. Frank DeGraw of Vancouver, BC, was listed as a survivor.11 She, of Sardis, R.R. #3, was listed as a witness to the marriage of Joseph Luca and Charlotta Marguerite DeGraw on 15 April 1933.12
     In the obituary of Charlotte Maitland who died 3 June 1940, her daughter, Mrs. Frank DeGraw of Yarrow, British Columbia, was listed as a survivor.13

     Walter R. Maitland appeared on the 1910 U.S. Federal Census of Port Huron, Saint Clair County, Michigan, in the household of Francis and Mable G. DeGraw, listed as an Assistant Shipping Clerk in an Iron Works.3
     Walter Ross Maitland registered for the draft on 31 May 1917 at Atkins, Clyde Twp., St. Clair County, Michigan, USA, at the age of 25. This registration shows that he was a naturalized U.S. citizen, born in Brighton, Ontario. Brighton could refer to the town or the township. He was a Mate for the Hanna Steamship Co. on the Str* E N Saunders on the Great Lakes.

He had 2 years experience as a Private in the Michigan militia.

     Walter R. and Winnufried B Matland appeared on the 1920 U.S. Federal Census of Douglas County, Wisconsin, enumerated 9 January 1920, described as a sailor (Str Stackhouse).4
     Ross W. and Winifred Maitland appeared on the 1920 U.S. Federal Census of Buffalo, Erie County, New York, enumerated 2 April 1930, described as a sailor on a Freight Boat. They were both 26 when they married.5
     In the obituary of Charlotte Noble Maitland who died 3 October 1930, her brother of Buffalo, NY, Capt. W. Ross Maitland was listed as a survivor.12
     The following information is from my personal research, 16 August 1937:
His picture appeared in a Chrysler advertizement in the Aug 16, 1937 edition of LIFE magazine with the caption"MARINER! Here's Captain W. Ross Maitland, S.S. "William B. Crawford," Buffalo. His fourth Chrysler, a Royal, is "the best ever built--19 miles to the gallon."13

     
     Walter R. and Winnifred Maitland appeared on the 1940 U.S. Federal Census of Buffalo, Erie County, New York, enumerated 18 April 1940, described as a Master Mariner for Great Lakes Corporation.7 Walter Maitland, of Port Huron, Michigan, was the informant on the death registration of his mother, Charlotte Maitland, who died on 3 June 1940.14
     In the obituary of Charlotte Maitland who died 3 June 1940, her son, Capt. Walter R. Maitland of Buffalo, master of the Great Lakes steamer Carl C. Conway, was listed as a survivor.15
     In the obituary of Mabel Jane DeGraw who died 28 April 1954, her brother, W. Maitland, of Buffalo, New York, was listed as a survivor.16

     Charlotte Noble Morash died on 3 October 1930 at Port Huron Hospital, Port Huron, Saint Clair County, Michigan, USA, at age 34. The informant was Mrs. Charlotte Maitland.7
      The cause of her death was given as Cerebral Embolism, following Gastric Perforation after getting Peritonitis following an Auto accident on Sep 13, 1930. The accident occurred east of Sarnia, Ontario on London Road.7
     Charlette Marosh was buried on 20 October 1930 at Block O Lot 477 Grave 1, Lakeside Cemetery, Port Huron, Saint Clair County, Michigan, USA.7,9
     She was commonly known as Noble Maitland3 ; and, Charlette Marosh.9
     Charlotte appeared on the 1900 Federal Census of Port Huron, Saint Clair County, Michigan in the household of her parents, Walter and Charlotte Maitland.4
     Charlotte N appeared on the 1910 Federal Census of Port Huron, Saint Clair County, Michigan in the household of her parents, Walter and Charlotte Maitland.5 In the death notice of Mary Jean Morash which printed 15 May 1917, her mother, Mrs. M J Morash was listed as a survivor.10 She was listed as the wife of Maxime James Morash on his passport for travel to Peru where he would take up a position with the International Petroleum Company. on 19 May 1924; received his U.S. passport so that he, his wife, Charlotte Noble and daughter, Charlotte Noble, could sail to Peru where he would take up a position with the International Petroleum Company.

They returned from Talara, Peru, arriving in New York on the S.S. Santa Ana on May 2, 1927. The ship had left Talchuano, Chile on April 9, 1927, picking up passengers at several ports of call.1

     Miss Zada Marion Stewart, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Angus Stewart, 3124 Hennepin av. and Arnold Maitland were married Saturday evening at 8:30 o'clock in St. Paul's Episcopal church, Rev. Stanley S. Kilbourne, rector of Gethsemane church, officiated. Robert Foulke of SL Paul and Ray Taylor of Minneapolis were ushers. The bride entered with her brother, Donald Stewart, and was given in marriage by her father. She wore a gown of Georgette crepe over white silk. Her veil was caught with orange blossoms. She held a shower bouquet of Ward roses and lilies of the valley. Miss Gertrude Stewart was her sister's maid of honor. She worn a gown of white organdie draped in yellow with a hat to match and held a colonial bouquet of Ward roses and forgetmenots (sic). Peggy Call, flower girl was in a frock of whlte organdie and held a banket of sweetheart roses and forgetmenots. G. Frederick Lohman was beat man. Miss Adair McRae, a cousin of the bride, sang.
     A small reception followed the service at the home of the bride's parents for the relatives and a few immediate friends. Red and white peonies decorated the rooms. Ward roses were used in the dining room. Mr. Maitland and his bride have gone on a trip to Detroit, Mich. They will be at home after Aug 1 at 3124 Hennepin av. The bride is a cousin of Miss Jeannette Rankin, representative in congress

     The marriage of Miss Wishropp and Dr. Gordon R. Maitland, of Detroit, son of Mrs. Henry Maitland, of Port Huron, Mich., will be an event of October 3 in the home of the bride's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Adolphe Wishropp in Paola, Kas. Following the ceremony at 7:30 o'clock at home there will be a reception and dance at the Paola Country club. Miss Wishropp was graduated from the University of Michigan in 1924 and since then has been assistant custodian for Regent William I Clements' Americana collection at the Clements' library at the University of Michigan.
     Miss Margaret Trainer, of Clarksburg, W. Va., who was Miss Wishropp's roommate at the university, will be her only attendant and the best man will be her brother, Dr. Edward Wishropp, of Detroit. After a four weeks' wedding trip to California, Dr. and Mrs. Maitland will take up their residence In Detroit.2

     In Paolo, Kan., a home wedding of beautiful appointments, which is of interest to many in Port Huron took place Wednesday when Dr. Gordon Renwick Maitland, of Detroit, son of Mrs. Henry Maitland of this city, took as his bride, Miss Frieda Hermine Wishropp, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Adolph Wishropp, of Paola. Rev. M. O. Falls, of the Paolo First Presbyterian church, performed the ceremony at seven-thirty o'clock.
     The bride was attractive in a Lelong gown of orchid pink transparent velvet, fashioned with an uneven hemline and two long panels, falling from the shoulders in back. She carried a shower bouquet of bridal roses and valley lilies. Miss Margaret Trainer, a college room-mate of the bride, attended as bridesmaid and wore a gown of deep rose crepe, heavily-beaded in crystal. Miss Marian Pollman. a cousin of the bride. played the wedding music. She wore a period dress of orchid taffeta. Dr. Edward Wishropp, a brother of the bride, served Dr. Maitland as best man.
     A wedding reception and dance for the bridal party and 100 guests was held at the Paolo Country club. Mr. Harold Hill, of Port Huron, was among the out of town guests at the wedding.
     Dr. Maitland and his bride are enjoying a month's trip through the West and will return to Detroit to make their home. Dr. Maitland, a graduate of the University of Michigan, is a member of the Phi Kappa Sigma and Delta Sigma Delta fraternities. After a year as instructor in the oral surgery school of the University of Tennessee, Dr. Maitland went to Detroit where his is practicing. His bride, also a graduate of the University of Michigan, has been assistant to the curator of Clements library in Ann Arbor.1

     Francis DeGraw died on 6 March 1962 at Cottage Private Hospital, Matsqui, British Columbia, Canada, at age 86 according to BC Death Registration 54-09-004800. He was a mixed farmer.. The informant was Walter DeGraw.3 The cause of his death was given as bronco pneumonia.3
     Francis DeGraw was buried on 10 March 1964 at I.O.O.F Cemetery, Chilliwack, British Columbia, Canada.2,3

The young couple will reside on Willow street.5
