     He died on 24 February 1964 in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Canada, at age 47 at home.1,3,12,5 The cause of his death was a heart attack.13
     The following selected information is extracted from his obituary. Survivor(s): Joyce Summach, Fred Summach, Muriel Seymour, Estelle Leona Esther Summach, Shirley Forsyth, Olive Summach, Delbert Summach, Kenneth Summach, Mac Summach, Manley Summach and Fred Summach.5 Emerson Hilton Summach was buried on 26 February 1964 in Hillcrest Memorial Gardens, Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Canada.14,15

     In circa 1920, Emerson, Muriel and Delbert were included in a family photograph in which Mom (Estelle) identified the children in the doorway as Emerson, Delbert and Muriel about 1920.17

Emerson Hilton Summach was visiting his grandfather Fred Krieger (spelled as Kruger in the related news clipping) on 30 September 1937 in Palmer Rapids, Raglan Twp., Renfrew County, Ontario, Canada.20,21
     Aunt Shirley confirmed he went to Ontario and worked "in Killaloe at Dad`s sister`s store (Annie Boland.)13,21" Hewas Best Man in the marriage of George Henry Seymour and Muriel Beulah Summach on 27 November 1940.22
     Uncle Ken remembers that he worked at a GM assembly plant in Regina during the war. That is where he developed his skills as a machinist.2324

     In the obituary of Mrs Fred Summack (sic) who died 26 June 1945, her son, Emmerson Summack (sic) was listed as a survivor.25
     According to the Canadian Patents Database Emerson Summach and Harvey Summach were listed as the inventors of the Land Packer described in patent CA 522495; and Kenneth F Summach was listed as "owner." It was issued on Mar 6, 1956 and expired on Mar 6, 1973.
     In a later application, Harvey's name was removed from the patent. I am not privy to details leading up to this change.26
     The following obituary appeared in an undated newspaper clipping in Estelle Moffat's scrapbook circa 25 February 1964 :
The sincere sympathy of Asquith and district is extended to all members of the Summach family, in the sudden passing of Emerson Summach on Monday, February 24. Mr. Summach was born and raised in Asquith. He was married to the former Joyce Hambly, also of Asquith. They moved with their family to Saskatoon in 1950

SUMMACH
THE PASSING OF Emerson Hilton Summach in his 47th year, beloved husband of Mrs. Joyce Summach of 406 Willow St., Saskatoon, occurred suddenly on Monday, February 24, 1964, The funeral service will be held on Wednesday. February 26 at 2 p.m. from the Avalon Emmanuel Baptist Church. conducted by Rev. H. McCormick, assisted by Rev. A. G. Elliot. Surviving are his wife; two daughters, Sharon and Carol, and one son, Terry, all of Saskatoon; his father, Mr. Fred Summach of Saskatoon; four sisters, Mrs. G. Seymour (Muriel), Mrs. Graham (sic) Moffat (Stella) and Mrs. E. C. Forsyth (Shirley) all of Asquith, Sask., and Mrs. Harvey Summach (Olive) of Saskatoon; five brothers, Delbert and Kenneth, both of Saskatoon, Mac, Manley and Fred Jr., all of Asquith. The late Mr. Summach was born at Asquith and had lived there until 1950 when he came to Saskatoon where he had since resided. He was married to the former Miss Joyce Lorraine Hamley (sic) on June 6. 1941, was the founder of the Flexi Coil Land Packers Ltd., an active member of the Avalon Emmanuel Baptist Church and chairman of the Deacons' Board and was a member of the Gideon Bible Society, In lieu of flowers the family requests that contributions be made to the Gideon Memorial Bible Society or to the Avalon Baptist Church Memorial Fund. Interment will take place in the family plot in Hillcrest Memorial Gardens. Park Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements,

     Uncle Em was an inductee into the Saskatchewan Agriculture Hall of Fame in 1990 according to their web site at .
