The following material is from SOME DESCENDANTS OF RICHARD BULLOCK OF REHOBOTH, MASSACHUSETTS, by Virginia Deagan (http://homepages.rootsweb.com/~vgdeagan/bullock2_3.htm).

Samuel Bullock, Jr. was born on 7 November 1683 at Rehoboth, Massachuetts. He was the son of Samuel and Thankful (Rouse) Bullock. He was married on 21 June 1711 to Anna Salisbury of Swansea, Massachuetts. She was the daughter of William and Anna (Cole) Salisbury,

Samuel was a farmer but he also was involved in many enterprises. He kept a store with his brothers Seth and Richard and traded by boat with parties at Bristol and Newport, Rhode Island. He also had a sawmill and gristmill. An old memorandum book belonging to Samuel and owned later by Jonathan Russell Bullock shows that in 1711-1712, Samuel was the Superintendent in building the Second Congregational Church that was erected on the first hill just north of the Shad or Orleans factory.

Samuel died in April 1746 at age 62. His son, William was administrator of his estate. He is buried in the old cemetery in Rehoboth where his father, Samuel, and his only son, William and many others of the Bullock family are buried.

Biography

Richard was born on 1 July 1692 in Rehoboth, Bristol County, Massachusetts.1,2

Richard Bullock III married Ann Mason.

Richard Bullock III married Mary Wheaton on 4 November 1718 in Swansea, Bristol County, Massachusetts.

Richard Bullock III died in 1780 in Dutchess County, New York, at age ~88.

"One of Samuel (1)'s sons by Thankful Reneff was Richard (3). Richard (3) married Mary Wheaton in 1718 and had eight children. Richard (4) was born in this family in 1724 and later married Keziah Horton in 1748. It was about this time that the Bullocks moved west to Dutchess County, New York. The Crum Elbow tax lists of the Great Nine Partners Patent (Ref. 4) lists a Richard Bullock for the years 1744 through 1779 and a Richard Bullock Jr. for the year 1746 and then for the years 1754 through 1779. From this it is assumed that Richard (3) moved to New York with son Richard (4) in 1744 and then Richard (4) went back to Rehoboth to get married in 1748, had a son Richard (5) in Rehoboth and went again to Dutchess County."
