He was a soldier in Captain Oliver Parmelee's Company, the Seventh Company of Colonel Charles Burrell's battalion, in the Revolutionary War. He first enlisted on February 4, 1776. He also enlisted on July 4, 1780, and was discharged Dec. 12 of the same year.2
