Paul Sorensen Simonsen was baptized on 24 June 1894 in Sennels (Parish), Hillerslev (District), Thisted (County), Denmark, M.3 He emigrated with Niels Peter ("Pete") Simonsen and Dortea Marie Simonsen in 1898 in Denmark to the United States. The Simonsen family joined Dorthea's siblings in Wahpeton, North Dakota. Paul Sorensen Simonsen appeared on the census of 1900 in the household of Niels Peter ("Pete") Simonsen and Dortea Marie Poulsen in Wahpeton, Richland County, North Dakota.5 Paul Sorensen Simonsen appeared on the census of 1910 in the household of Niels Peter ("Pete") Simonsen and Dortea Marie Simonsen in 201 South Second Street, Wahpeton, Richland County, North Dakota, which lists Niels Peter Simonsen, 38, his wife Dorothy, 37, and their children Paul, 15, and Inger, 13, all born in Denmark.6 Paul left Wahpeton, ND, in 1917 to see the Minneapolis Aquatennial, then on to Chicago and New York. He joined a hospital unit was was overseas in World War I before General Pershing's troops arrived in Europe.

He was a Sargeant First Class in World War I between 4 May 1917 and 17 February 1919.7 Paul Sorensen Simonsen appeared on the census of 1920 in the household of Niels Peter ("Pete") Simonsen and Dortea Marie Simonsen in Wahpeton, Richland County, North Dakota, which lists Niels Simonsen, 47, his wife Dorthea, 46, and their children Paul, 25, and Inger, 23, all born in Denmark.8 Paul Sorensen Simonsen was a university student in 1920.9

Paul Sorensen Simonsen appeared on the census of 1930 in 143 East 39th Street, Manhattan, New York County, New York, which lists Paul S. Simonsen, 36, single, born in Denmark, apparently a guest at a large hotel.10 He was an architechtura draftsman in 1930.10 His Social Security Number was 119-05-0171, issued before 1951 in New York.2 Later, he was an architect and talented artist in Los Angeles. According to the Social Security Death Index, Paul's last residence was in Bradenton, Manatee County, Florida.2

She was cremated in Bradenton, Florida, and her ashes scattered in the Caribbean Sea.1,2

The Simonsen family joined Dorthea's siblings in Wahpeton, North Dakota. They were apparently living with Inger's parents, Nils and Dortea Simonsen. [North Dakota State Census, 1925].

Inger Marie Lancaster and Blake McKenzie Lancaster, M.D., appeared on the census of 1930 in Bradenton, Manatee County, Florida, which listed Blake Lancaster, 48, born in Ontario, Canada, came to USA in 1898; his wife Inger, 36, born in Denmark; their children (all born in Minnesota) Blake, 9, Nelson, 7, and Dorothy, 5; and Blake's brother David Lancaster, 67, born in Ontario, Canada, came to USA in 1927.7 Inger later lived at 16 High Street, Manatee, Florida, the home of her parents Niels Peter and Dortea (Poulsen) Simonsen.

Mrs. Inger Lancaster and daughter, Dorothy [Lancaster], of Washington, D. C., are visiting here several weeks as guests of relatives. Mrs. Lancaster is visiting her parents. Mr. and Mrs. Peter Simonsen, of Braden Castle, and Miss Lancaster is guest of her father, Dr. Blake Lancaster of Manatee. Her Social Security Number was 579-28-7447, issued before 1951 in District of Columbia.2 According to the Social Security Death Index, Inger's last residence was in Bradenton, Manatee County, Florida.2

FUNERAL NOTICE LANCASTER
Mrs. Inger Simonsen Lancaster, 80. born in Thisted, Denmark, died in Florida Hospital, South Orlando, after a severe illness on Friday, August 27, 1976. She was brought with her brother to the United States in 1898 by their parents and settled in Wahpeton. North Dakota. Her schooling prepared her as a teacher and she became superintendent of grades. In 1920 she married the late Dr. Blake Lancaster and they moved to Manatee in 1925 where they built Riverside Hospital on East 2nd Avenue. Mrs. Lancaster was an accomplished musician playing both the harp and the piano She earned her pilots license when she was fifty years of age. A gracious hostess, she made many friends of American and International Dignitaries at her home in Bethesda, Maryland, during the Second World War.
Her second son, Nelson, was lost in the Pacific during the war. Mrs. Lancaster was active in the Business & Professional Women's Organization and the Order of the Eastern Star. She studied the Infinite Way under the late Joel Goldsmith. She retired to her parents’ home on the Manatee River in Braden Castle in 1961. Mrs Lancaster is survived by her brother, Paul Simonsen, architect and author, of Los Angeles, her son Blake Paul Lancaster, her daughter. Dorothy Lancaster Smith, both of Bradenton, eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Friends may call Sunday, August 20, from 2-4 & 7-9 pm at the GRIFFITH CLINE BRADENTON CHAPEL. Services will be held Monday, August 30, [1976], at 2 pm in the Bradenton Chapel with Rev. A J Baughey of the Palm View Bible Church of St. Petersburg officiating. Expressions of sympathy may be made to the American Cancer Society.

BLAKE McKENZIE LANCASTER
FIRST saw the light of day in the sunny town of Culloden, where for the first fifteen years of his life he dispensed medicines for his father. After that time, to pursue his studies, he entered Woodstock Collegiate, from which he success- fully graduated. He then returned home to cultivate his artistic talents, but finally thinking it wiser to follow in the footsteps of his forefathers he entered old Trinity. Blake is a quiet, whole-souled chap, ever taking a deep interest in his work, which will truly bring him every success.

Blake McKenzie Lancaster, M.D., emigrated in 1905 from Canada to the United States Note: The 1920 census for Chicago says that he emigrated to the USA in 1908 and was naturalized in 1913. He lived in 1908 in Inkster, Grand Forks County, North Dakota.8 He lived in 1912 in Crosby, Divide County, North Dakota, He was the first doctor in Crosby, ND.

Blake McKenzie Lancaster, M.D., and Maud Lancaster appeared on the census of 1915 in Crosby, Divide County, North Dakota, which lists Blake Lancaster and Mrs. Maud Lancaster. [North Dakota State Census, 1915]. He lived on 9 September 1918 in Crosby, Divide County, North Dakota.3

Blake McKenzie Lancaster, M.D., appeared on the census of 6 January 1920 in 308 Dakota Avenue, Wahpeton, Richland County, North Dakota, which lists Blake Lancaster, 38, born in Ontario, Canada, single.9 He was a physician and surgeon in 1920.9

Blake McKenzie Lancaster, M.D., and Maud Lancaster appeared on the census of 21 January 1920 in 2056 Birchwood Dr, Chicago, Cook County, Illinois, which lists Blake Lancaster, 35, his wife Maud, 31 (both born in Canada), their daughter Eleanor, 4, born in North Dakota, and three lodgers.10 He was a doctor.10

Blake McKenzie Lancaster, M.D., and Inger Marie Lancaster appeared on the census of 1925 in Wahpeton, Richland County, North Dakota, which lists Blake Lancaster, 44, his wife Inger Lancaster, 29, their sons Blake, Jr., 4, Nelson, 2, and daughter Dorothy, 4 months. They were apparently living with Inger's parents, Nils and Dortea Simonsen. [North Dakota State Census, 1925]. They moved to Florida in the late 1920s.

Blake McKenzie Lancaster, M.D., and Inger Marie Lancaster appeared on the census of 1930 in Bradenton, Manatee County, Florida, which listed Blake Lancaster, 48, born in Ontario, Canada, came to USA in 1898; his wife Inger, 36, born in Denmark; their children (all born in Minnesota) Blake, 9, Nelson, 7, and Dorothy, 5; and Blake's brother David Lancaster, 67, born in Ontario, Canada, came to USA in 1927.1

Blake McKenzie Lancaster, M.D., appeared on the census of 21 January 1930 in 2056 Birchwood Dr, Chicago, Cook County, Illinois. He was a doctor in a hospital in 1930.1

Blake McKenzie Lancaster, M.D., appeared on the census of 1935 in Manatee County, Florida, which lists Blake Lancaster, 53, born in Canada.11 Blake apparently had another wife, Frances.

Blake McKenzie Lancaster, M.D., and David Henry Lancaster, Jr., appeared on the census of 1940 in Manatee, Manatee County, Florida.12 Blake McKenzie Lancaster, M.D., was a physician in 1940.13

Biography

Blake was born on 10 April 1921 in Breckenridge, Wilkin County, Minnesota.1,2,3 He married Katherine Newman. He married Barbara Weeks Dickinson on 2 November 1942 in Washington, D.C.. He married Rose Mary Condit on 7 November 1970 in Bradenton, Manatee County, Florida.4 He died on 27 December 1989 in Bradenton, Manatee County, Florida, at age 68.1,2,3 He was buried in Manasota Memorial Park, Bradenton, Manatee County, Florida.5
