He had been a resident of Lansing for 16 years, coming from Detroit and was a carpenter in the Detroit and Lansing area for 55 years. Surviving are. his wife. Lena E.. of Lansing; 2 step-daughters. Mrs. Naomi Miller of Dimondale. Mrs. Donna Lyon of Dearborn; 3 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild. Interment in Lakeside Cemetery, Lake Odessa.

Marilyn Houghton of Manchester, New Hampshire
June 14, 1935 - August 16, 2023

Marilyn (Howe) Houghton was born on June 14, 1935, in Manchester, NH. The daughter of Michael and Alice (Poehlman) Howe. She graduated from West High School in 1953 and Keene Teachers College in 1957 with a bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education. She was a beloved teacher in the Manchester Public School and Parochial School systems. Marilyn was married to her husband Paul for 65 years. Together, they raised seven children and welcomed 18 caring grandchildren who were the joy of her life. A devoted wife, mom and nana, Marilyn supported their every endeavor. An avid sports fan and music lover, she enjoyed cheering them on in their athletic competitions and music pursuits. Marilyn cherished being an early childhood educator and her many students occupied a special place in her heart. She traveled with friends and family over the years including memorable trips to Ireland, Australia, South Bend Indiana (University of Notre Dame!) and cruises to Alaska and with Disney. Marilyn especially loved spending her summers at their cottage overlooking Pasquaney Bay at Newfound Lake.

She is survived by her husband, Paul Houghton; her children, Paul Houghton and his wife, Marianne, Maureen Hamel and her husband, Norman, Patrick Houghton and his wife, Mary Jo, Megan Roukey and her husband, John, Michael Houghton and his wife, Nancy, Mary Flaherty and her husband, Kevin, and Margaret Honda and her husband, Leif; eighteen grandchildren, Bridget, Liam, Robert, Mary Kate, Melissa, Sarah, Connor, Griffin, Elizabeth, Katharine, Andrew, William, Lochlan, Nora, Maeve, Finn, Madilyn, and Ailish; her brother, Michael and his wife, Donna Howe; two nephews, Michael and Terrance Howe; her niece and godchild, Alyssa McKenzie; and many Houghton nieces and nephews.

Services: Calling hours are Monday, August 21, 2023, from 4 to 7 PM at Connor-Healy Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 537 Union Street, Manchester, NH.

The funeral will be held Tuesday, August 22, 2023, with a mass of Christian burial to be celebrated at 10 AM in St. Raphael Church, 103 Walker Street, Manchester, NH.

Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery, Bedford, NH
