JEANETTE M. CROWELL, 68 ROCKFORD - Jeanette M. Crowell, 68, Rockford, passed away Thursday, Feb. 21, 2013, after a brief battle with cancer, with her family by her side. She was born Oct. 2, 1944, in Rockford to William and Ruby Newkirk. She is survived by her children, Dana (Gary Dewing) Houghton, Sara (Rex) Brown and Tom (Nancy) Houghton; six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; sister, Marge (Gary) Gyllenswan; and brothers, Richard (Carol) Newkirk and Thomas Newkirk. Jeanette is preceded in death by husband, Ted Crowell; parents; brothers, Robert Newkirk and Ronald Newkirk; and sisters, Judy Gulbrantson and Sally McBain. Yours in service - 13 years - friends, Rob, Lynn and Pat. The family sends special thanks to the staff at Riverbluff Blue Jay wing.
