Douglas Critzer Houghton, 77, loving wife and mother, formerly of Waynesboro, passed away Sunday, July 3, 2005 at Pheasant Ridge Nursing Home in Roanoke. She was born March 20, 1928 in Augusta County, the daughter of the late Forrest J. and Mildred Bruce Critzer. Doug was a member of the First Christian Church in Stuart, Fla. and a founding member of the West Waynesboro Church of Christ. Throughout her life, she was employed at Acme Visible Records, Rule Volkswagen, Baugher Chevrolet and Carl Riddlebarger Plumbing and Heating. She and Woody enjoyed their retirement in Stuart, Fla. from 1990 to 2004, when they returned to Roanoke, Va. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Sylvia C. Lloyd. Survivors include her husband of 58 years, Harry "Woody" Houghton of Roanoke; a son, Jerry Houghton of Roanoke; three daughters, Virginia Allen of Powhatan, Anita Via of Staunton and Lynette Hughes of Waynesboro; and one sister Catherine Quick. She enjoyed her ten grandchildren and her three great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be conducted 11 a.m. Friday, July 8, 2005 at the Waynesboro Chapel of Reynolds Funeral Service with Phil Forehand officiating. Burial will be at a later date at Augusta Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, July 7, 2005 at Reynolds Funeral Service. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, P.O. Box 5216, Glen Allen, Va. 23058.¹

Nancy J. (Houghton) Bullis, 81, of Corvallis died of cancer on June 17, 2012, born December 24, 1930.

She was the oldest of six siblings; Milton Carson preceded, Michael Carson of Anchorage, Alaska; Jess Lewis Houghton of Poulsbo, Washington; Arlene Rankin of Hermiston, Oregon; and Charlotte Lockwood of Florence, Oregon.

Nancy's children Linda Holladay of Olympia, Washington and Johney Laskey of Lake Stevens, Washington survive her; as well as her five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. A sixth great-grandchild will be born in September.
