Born in the Bronx, N.Y., he lived in Springfield for 10 years and was a student at the Homer Street and Kiley middle schools and the High School of Commerce. He played football and basketball and was an honor roll student. He leaves his parents, Michael and Marcia (Thorpe) Houghton of Springfield; a brother, Matthew A., and sister, Niketa Houghton, both of Springfield; his grandparents, Dorett Robinson and Leslie Thorpe, both of the Bronx, and Amy Houghton of Jamaica; and his great-grandmother, Sylvia Robinson of the Bronx. The funeral will be Wednesday morning at Springfield Church of God, with burial in Hillcrest Park Cemetery. Calling hours are Tuesday afternoon and evening at Harrell Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made to the High School of Commerce, 415 State St., Springfield, MA 01105.¹
