Miss Ada Gwendolyn Haughton, 80, prominent for many years in Newport News musical circles, died Aug. 1 at Wolverhampton, England, according to a letter from her nephew, Malcolm Vyvyan.
Funeral service and interment have been held in England.
The only immediate survivor is a sister, Mrs. Hugh Vyvyan, for many years a resident of Newport News until her marriage and removal to Wolverhampton. She is seriously ill in a hospital there, her sons letter to friends here said.
Miss Haughton had gone recently to England to visit Mrs. Vyvyan. She recently suffered a broken hip in a fall on a lawn, and her death in a Wolverhampton hospital followed soon afterward.
She was a daughter of the late James Haughton, who for many years was in the English consular service in Newport News. She was a member of the Grace Episcopal Church.
Miss Haughton, until her retire- ment a few years ago. was prominent among teachers of piano and musical theory on the Peninsula. She also was an organist. A num-' her of her pupils are active as teachers or in other musical work here and elsewhere.

Funeral services for Dr. William Herod GOLDSBURY , 84, a practicing dentist in Pauls Valley for 42 years, will be held at 9:30 a.m. Friday in the Stufflebean Funeral Home chapel. Rev. Bob Sunderland of the Trinity Baptist Church will offiate. Burial will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery.
Dr. GOLDSBURY died of a heart attact at his home Tuesday morning. He was born May 1, 1878 in Lawson, Mo. He graduated from Central State College at Edmond and taught school several years in Major County. He graduated from the Kansas City Dental College in 1908. He and Sarah Louise HOUGHTON of Kansas City, Mo., were married Jan 1, 1909.
Dr. GOLDSBURY began dental practice at Mutual, Okla. in 1909. He also practiced at Vici, carrying his instruments back and forth with him. He moved to Pauls Valley in 1919. He opened his office here over what is now Crabtree Drug Store #1. Later he moved his office above the Pauls Valley Building and Loan Association. Then he moved above the First National Bank where he remained until he retired in September, 1961.
He served as dentist for the Pauls Valley State Training School for Boys, which is now the Pauls Valley State School.
He joined the Baptist Church. Dr. Goldsbury was a member of the Oklahoma Dental Society. On his 50th Anniversary of practice, the Kansas City Dental College honored him by giving him a life membership in the Dental Century Club of the United States. He was also a charter member of the local Elks Lodge, a Mason and a charter member of the Pauls Valley Kiwanis Club.
Among his many friends over the county and state, he was known for his generosity to others, given in a quiet way.
Survivors include his wife, one son, Albert William of Altus, two grandchildren, Katie Louise GOLDSBURY Horn, and William Albert Goldsbury. One great grandson, William Ken Horn: two brothers , Albert of El Paso, Texas and Hugh of Bellflower, Calif., and three sisters, Mrs Laura Morehouse of Cameron, Mo. Mrs Dora Bain and Mrs. Maud Butler of Bellflower, Calif.
