He was born on March 26, 1946 in Waverly, NY, the son of the late Alfred Eugene Houghton and Irene Matthew. He was predeceased by his son, Jarod Lee Houghton. He is survived by his former wife, Janice Fuller; two sons, Alfred Houghton, Port Saint John, FL, and Alex Houghton, Baldwin; two brothers, Malcolm Houghton, Spencer, and Paul Houghton, Alpine; five sisters, Helen Rorick, Alpine, Anna Calahan, Norfolk, VA, Debbie Houghton, Betty, and Janet, all of Odessa; a grandson, Matthew Nickisch; nieces and nephews. Alfred served in the US Navy. He was a Captain of EMT at Baldwin, member of Baldwin Fire Department, and past member of Newfield Fire Department. Friends may call on Saturday, April 7, 2007, from 2 to 4 p.m. at Allen-Manzer Funeral Home in Spencer. Committal services with Honors will be Tuesday, April 10, 2007, at 9:30 a.m. at Woodlawn National Cemetery, Elmira, NY. Published in the Star-Gazette on 4/6/2007.¹

Age 61, of Spencer, died Saturday, June 2, 2007, at his home. He was born on March 26, 1946, the son of the late Alfred Eugene Houghton, Sr. and Irene Matthew. He was predeceased by his twin brother, Alfred Eugene Houghton, Jr. Malcolm is survived by his sisters, Anna Callaghan, Chesapeake, VA, Helen Rorick, Alpine, Debbie Houghton, Odessa, Betty Young, Odessa, Janet Boehn, Waverly; brother, Paul Houghton, Alpine; nieces and nephews. Malcolm had worked for NCR in Ithaca for 25 years. There will be no calling hours. A graveside service will be held on Thursday, June 7, 2007, at 9:30 a.m. at Woodlawn National Cemetery, Elmira, NY. Rev. Burton Huth will officiate. Arrangements are with Allen-Manzer Funeral Home.

SPRINGFIELD — Margaret Jeanne Carroll of Springfield died May 14 of age-related causes. She was 96. A graveside service will be held in Bellingham, Wash.

She was born Jan. 17, 1915, in Bellingham to Joseph and Margaret Fyfe Houghton. She married George Carroll in 1939 in Entiat, Wash; he died in 1998.

She was trained as a ballerina and graduated from Western Washington College with a teaching degree. She taught school and ran a dance studio.

Survivors include a daughter, Sandra Cochran of Springfield; two sons, Joe of San Diego and Pat of Lynnwood, Wash; seven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
