SAUK CENTRE – Olga L. Houghton, 90, died Tuesday at St. Michael’s Hospital. A memorial service will be Friday at Schad Funeral Home, with burial in Greenwood Cemetery. Olga was born Sept. 23, 1902, in Sauk Centre to Charles and Annis Lillian (Mathias) Houghton. She attended Hamline University, was a graduate of St. Cloud Teachers College and taught at McCormic Lake Country School, Sauk Centre Township, and later at Fulda and Annandale schools where she taught bookkeeping. She moved back to Sauk Centre in 1944 and taught and counseled girls at the Home School until retiring in 1972. She owned and operated Houghton Apartments for the past 60 years and was a member of First United Church, Minnesota & National Education Associations. Survivors include a brother, Charles R., Scottsdale, Ariz.
