Herald Tribune, Albert G. Houghton, 71, Nokomis, died July 18, 2006. He was born Nov. 9, 1934, in Howell, Mich., and came to Nokomis in 1982. He retired in 2001 after 13 years as a heavy equipment operator for Sarasota County and was a Coast Guard veteran. He was a member of Fellowship Bible Church in Venice and had served in the West Indies as a missionary. Survivors include his wife, Jean; a son, Daniel of Bay City, Mich; a sister, Jeanette Wines; and a brother, Thomas, both of Howell. Visitation will be from 1 to 2 p.m. Saturday, with service to follow, at Farley Funeral Home, Venice Chapel. Burial will be at 1 p.m. Monday in Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell. Memorial donations may be made to Fellowship Bible Church, Missions Fund, 4400 Zenith Road, Venice FL 34293; or to TideWell Hospice and Palliative Care, 5955 Rand Blvd. Sarasota FL 34238.
