Stanley Rey Houghton, 2022: There is a book that I think is in a public library in Oxford County, Ontario, entitle The Axe and Wheel. I could not check out a copy, get copies, or find one to purchase. It mentions memories by Capt. Williams about his Uncle Steve Houghton. He tells about Steve Houghton breaking a huge rock at a barn raising. Williams also says that Steve Houghton laid many barn foundations in the area. An index of will exists somewhere that lists Stephen Houghton – Woodstock – Stone Mason. These are the parents and siblings of my great grandfather. This Stephen was listed as a farmer, laborer, Teamster and stone mason. He must be the one mentioned in The Axe and the Wheel.
