Phyllis Irene Houghton (age 85) entered into rest on November 13, 2008 in Bellingham, WA. Phyllis was born on October 11, 1923 in El Dorado, Kansas to Wilbur and Bernice (Strong) Barnhill and was a graduate of El Dorado High. On December 18, 1944 Phyllis married Robert M. Taliaferro in Wichita, Kansas. Robert passed away in 1983. After Robert's passing, Phyllis married Melvin T. Houghton. Melvin passed away in 2001. She is survived by two sons, Arnold Taliaferro, Dale (Lori) Taliaferro of Winnemucca, NV. two daughters, Dorothy (Kevin) Ward of Holmes, PA., Donna (Duayne) Trecker of Ferndale, WA., and one grandchild. Phyllis was a member of the First Baptist Church, loved reading, and enjoyed sewing crafts and gardening. She had many personal qualities; one of which that stood out the most was just being a Nice Person. The family wishes to thank the staffs of both the Woodway Inn and Highland Care Center for their kindness and care. Memorial Services will be held on Friday, November 21, 2008 at 3:00 p.m. at Jerns Funeral Chapel 800 E. Sunset Dr. Bellingham. Inurnment will take place at Bayview City Cemetery.
