He was chaplain at Grasse, France, 1906-1909, Helouan, Egypt, 1910-1914, Siena, Italy, 1917, Tangier, Morocco, 1918-1920, and Sorrento, Italy, 1922-1925. He returned to Southborough MA in 1929 to be near his family.¹

Donald Julius Houghton
Private memorial services will be held for Donald Julius Houghton, of Redwood Valley. He died Wednesday, January 3,1996, of natural causes at home. He was 86.
Houghton was born April 3,1909 in Northfield, Vi. He was a graduate of Norwich University in Virginia with a bachelor of arts degree in education. Houghton was a U.S. Air Force veteran, having earned the rank of lieutenant colonel. After retiring from the Air Force, Houghton taught school in Clovcrdale for 15 years. He moved to Redwood Valley in 1980.
He is survived by his wife, Roberta Houghton of Redwood Valley; sons Ron Houghton of Redwood Valley and Don Houghton of Cosla Mesa; daughter, Connie Gates of Carlsbad, Calif; and three grandchildren.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Hospice of Ukiah.
