McCoy: "Charles evidently is the son of a brother of William Hullinger. He first appears in 1900 census of Clinton Co., IA with wife Millie A. and lists parents as b. OH and NY. and in 1920 Sarah E. Hullinger age 82 b. NY is living with him, but listed as mother-in-law. An 1880 listing is needed. Millie A. matches the birthdate of Mila A. in the 1860 and 1870 censuses thus explaining how Sarah E. Hullinger is Charles' mother-in-law. However, his mother could be a McDougall relative, so his parents must be found, too."¹
