Lowell Genealogy (1899): "It is said of her that she was engaged to be m. in her early womanhood, the day of m. was set, but owing to uncertain means of travel of that day he was delayed. She became insane, and when the young man arrived she refused to know him, and never recovered from her insanity."

McCoy: "In the 1850 census of Gainesville, NY, she is living with her parents, Josiah and Susannah Lowell, age 30. I suggest this a copying error, and her age should actually be 50, consistent with her brothers' and sisters' ages."^1,2
