It is possible that he belonged to the " Band of Pensioners " gentlemen of blood and coat armour instituted by Henry VIII and now known as " His Majesty's Honourable Corps of Gentlemen-at-Arms. [:CR:], High Sheriff - and I believe he was Constable of Holt Castle and known as "the pensioner".1
