BiographyThe problem here seems to be that Mary had two children after her husband Thomas Snelson died. They were given her married surname. They were bastards, "spurious" or "base" - all these words having the same meaning. I think this answers Richard Snelson's challenge in his letter of the 1st October 1988, although the case is not totally closed.
