Charles B. Borland, Toronto
C. B. Borland, Toronto, an old Orono boy, and one time prominent business man of the village, passed away Friday, March 14th, interment in the family plot in Orono Cemetery on the Monday following.
Charley, as he was popularly known to his many friends here, was a resident of Orono in early boyhood and received his early education on Old College Hill. In the early eighties after his graduation in Pharmacy he conducted a drug store here. About forty years ago he moved to Toronto where he carried on the same business until his retirement a few years ago.
A short service was conducted at l the grave here by his former pastor and life-long friend, Rev. J. W. Rae, a number of his old boyhood friends being in attendance.
Relatives present from a distance were his daughter and son-in-law, Dr. C. A. and Mrs. Kennedy, with whom he made his home since the death of his wife about a year ago; Mr. and Mrs. Robson, the latter a niece of (a daughter of the late Ed. Borland. Mr. and Mrs. William Percy; Mr. and Mrs. George F. Bigham, Buffalo, N.Y., Mr. and Mrs. Sid Brooks, Courtice; Mr. B. J. Hall and Mr. and Mrs. Elmo Staples, Toronto.
Besides his daughter, one brother, Mr. Anson Borland, Winnipeg, Man., survives him.
Pall bearers were Messrs. W. S. Percy, J.E. Robson, George F. Bigham, William Staples, Bruce Waddell and Sid Brooks-News.6
