Elga L. Verch passed away peacefully in Caressant Care Nursing Home in Cobden surrounded by her loving family. Beloved wife of the late Gilbert N. Verch. Caring mother of her sons, Don (Gail), Garry (predeceased) (Val), and Jim (Peggy), 9 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren and family friend Tina.
Elga is also survived by her brother Floyd and 2 sisters Fern and Grace. She was predeceased by brothers Kenneth, Ellard, Harold, Raymond, Roy and Eddie, and sister Elaine.
Elga was such a wonderful, beautiful person, loving wife, mother and grandmother. Elga was known for her wonderful home cooking and welcoming smile that always made sure everyone felt at home.
She was greatly loved and will be sadly missed by all who knew her.2

Dear mother of Nancy (Ron) Bresee of RR #1, Portland and Kim (Paul) Howard of Carrying Place. Dear sister of Mickey (Doris) Chatsick of Pembroke and Grace Janes of Orangeville. Predeceased by sisters, Elga Verch and Elaine Ristow and brothers, Kenneth, Ellard, Edward, Raymond, Harold and Roy. Miss Grace Lois Chatsick and Mr. Morley Lloyd Janes were united in marriage recently in a double ring ceremony in Calvary Baptist Church, Killaloe, Ont.

The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Chatsick of Killaloe and the bridegroom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Janes of Toronto.

Rev.Norman Burban officiated at the ceremony. Mrs. Lawrence Getz was organist and Miss Minnie Chatsick of Buffalo was soloist.

Mr. Chatsick gave his daughter in marriage and she was attended by her sisters, Mrs. Bruce Lewis, as matron of honor and Mrs. Ralph Ristow, as bridesmaid.

Mr. Ron Trupp of Toronto was best man and the ushers were Mr. Harold Chatsick, brother of the bride, and Mr. Art Mosley of Toronto.

The bride wore a floor length gown of appliqued lace trimmed with pearls and sequins fashioned with lilypoint sleeves and a bouffant skirt which extended into a chapel train.

A crown headdress of pearls and sequins secured her fingertip veil and she carried a white bible, a gift of the bridegroom, adorned with roses and lily of the valley.

Her attendants wore gowns off blue and pink net and carried bouquets of pink and white chrysanthemums.

Following a reception at Windermere Lodge, the couple left on a trip to Miami, Florida. On their return they will live in Orangeville, Ont.

Going away the bride wore a figured bronze pure silk dress with matching feathered hat and accessories.5

     She was born on 21 June 1922.3 Rita married Kenneth L Chatsick.4 Rita married Harold Chatsick on 29 June 1963 in St. Andrew's Church, Killaloe, Hagarty Twp., Renfrew County, Ontario, Canada.3,5 Rita married Keith James Crockford.1
     She died on 11 March 2008 in St. Francis Memorial Hospital, Barry's Bay, Ontario, Canada, at age 85.1
     The following selected information is extracted from her obituary. Predeceased: Eugene Hull, Michael Ryan, Kenneth Chatsick, Harold Chatsick and Keith Crockford.1 Rita Mary Crockford was buried in a spring interment in St. Andrew's Cemetery (New), Killaloe, Hagarty Twp., Renfrew County, Ontario, Canada.1
     In the obituary of Kenneth L Chatsick who died 20 January 1960, his widow, the former Rita Rice was listed as a survivor.6

     On Saturday, June 29, in St. Andrew's Church, Killaloe by Rev. I. W. Rich, Rita, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. R. Rice of Douglas, to Harold Chatsick, son of Mr. and Mrs. J. Chatsick of Killaloe. Attendants were Mr. and Mrs. John Lessard of Ottawa.

Rita Mary Crockford passed away peacefully at St. Francis Memorial Hospital, Barry's Bay on March 11th, 2008. She is survived by her son James (Jean) and her daughters Jacky and Ann. Grandmother of Deanna, Jennifer, Jordan Kathleen, Patrick, and Ian. She is survived by Sisters-of-St. Joseph Mary, Teresa, and Loretta and sisters Eulalia (Joseph) and Elizabeth, sisters-in-law Connie, Ruth and Lauretta Rice and many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by brothers Joe, John, Michael and Rev. Isaiah Rice and brother-in-law Leslie Mthieu (sic) and sons-in-law Eugene Hull and Michael Ryan. Predeceased by husbands Kenneth Chatsick, Harold Chatsick and Keith Crockford. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the St. Francis Memorial Hospital Foundation or the St. Andrew's Parish Memorial Fund. Friends are invited to visit at the Zummach Funeral Home, Killaloe on Thursday from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, March 14th at 1 1 a.m. in St. Andrew's Church, Killaloe. Spring interment in St. Andrew's Cemetery.
